- What is the International Coffee Group?
- The
International Coffee Group meets to learn about the school, to practice
English, to meet international and American parents, and to form
friendships. Babies, preschoolers and visitors are welcome. Your EL
teacher will email you an invitation. We welcome and encourage you to come even if your English ability is not good. The EL teacher and other parents will help you access tools to make your child’s experience successful.
- International Family Fall and Spring Events are also offered at many schools.

- Attending School Events
- Parents are encouraged to attend school events. It’s a good idea to mark the dates of school events on your calendar at the beginning of the school year. If you cannot attend, explain to your child about your plans so they are not surprised when you don’t come.
- Can I volunteer or visit the school?
- Volunteering time in the library, art room or your child’s elementary classroom is a good way to learn about your child’s new school and to be helpful to the teachers. Teachers appreciate help preparing for special projects. Parents volunteer to go on field trips and they attend class parties and presentation days.
