• What do I need to know about my child’s school day?
    • Lunch Information
      • Students may bring their lunches from home. They may buy a hot lunch, a sandwich or milk/juice. You may purchase a lunch account in the school office. Each time your child eats a school lunch, the price is deducted from the account.

      • Bringing lunch from home
        • Families may want to send lunch from home. Students will need to bring hot lunch in a thermos. There is no way to heat up food at school.

    • Recess
      • Elementary students have 20 minutes of recess before lunch every day in addition to other  times for movement throughout the day.
    • School Day Schedule
      • Student schedules will be different depending on the child’s grade level and teacher.  All elementary students have physical education (P.E.) every day. Students need to wear tennis shoes to participate. They will also have reading, writing, math, social studies or science, music, Spanish and art.

    • After-School Clubs and Activities
      • Each school has different activities available for children. The school office can send you a list.
    • Field Trips/Special Events
      • Field trips are excursions that extend learning beyond the classroom. Students often travel by school bus to museums, parks, the theater, etc. On field trips, teachers prefer that children bring their lunches in a plastic or paper bag so that there is no worry about leaving a lunch box on the bus or elsewhere.
