General Information

  • A. Recess

Outdoor recesses are scheduled each day. Parents should be sure their child's clothing is suitable for outdoor play activities. Indoor activities are planned during inclement weather when children cannot play outside.

After an illness a child will be permitted to stay indoors for a day or two with a parent note. If a lengthy indoor stay is required, a note from a doctor is necessary.

    B. Games/Toys
Please do not allow your child(ren) to bring games and toys that may be disruptive. Any item that would cause a family concern should it be broken or lost should not be brought to school.

    C. Phone Calls
Children may use the office phone for emergency purposes only with the permission of a staff member.

    D. Lost and Found
There is a lost and found box in the hall by the cafeteria for items that have been found. Parents are welcome to check the box for "missing" items at any time.

Misplaced items will be returned to the owner if they are clearly labeled. Students should not wear valuable jewelry or bring money, expensive toys, or radios to school. If there is no alternative, the child should take those items to the office immediately upon arrival at school.

Each month items from the Lost and Found are displayed in the hall by the art room. All children are asked to check for any lost items. At the end of each semester all items left in our Lost and Found are donated to agencies serving the needy.

    E. Insurance
Information on school insurance is sent home at the beginning of the school year. Arrangements are made directly with the insurance company.

    F. School Property
Students are expected to take care of school property and to replace lost or damaged materials. In such instances, parents will be notified and asked to pay for those items. Report cards may be held until appropriate payment is made.

    G. Voter Registration
Residents can contact the Board of Election Commissioners at 615-1800 for information on how to register to vote.

    H. Building Use
Groups interested in using the school facilities in the evening for non-school sponsored activities may obtain a permit. The fee schedule covers the cost of utilities and custodial services. For more information call 854-6950.
