• Dear Parents,

    Due to COVID-19 the information below is subject to change. 

     

    We would like to welcome you and your child to Meramec Elementary!  Our first day of school will be Monday, August 22, 2022.  School hours are 8:40-3:30.  

     If you are planning to have your child buy lunch, each student has a lunch account to alleviate sending money each day.  Your first deposit can be made at Meet the Teacher.  Make checks payable to School District of Clayton.  More detailed information pertaining to lunch can be obtained from the school office.  Please label your child’s lunch box with his/her first and last name.

     

    We have important arrival and dismissal procedures:

    *Kid Zone is our before and after school care program.  If you are in need of before and/or after school care, click here

    *Outdoor arrival supervision begins at 8:20 by the front door, back playground door, and the back science door close to the kindergarten classrooms.  At 8:30, the students are welcomed into their classrooms. School begins at 8:40.

    *If you are walking your child to school, you can bring your child to the front of the building to enter the front left double doors.  A staff member will greet your child at the door to direct your child to walk independently to his/her classroom.

    *If your child is riding the bus, a staff member will greet the students at the bus and lead them to the front left door to be directed to his/her classroom by a staff member.

    *If you are dropping off your child, the carpool circle drive is located behind the school off South Central.  There will be several staff members along the way greeting and directing the children to the back playground doors to be directed to his/her classroom by a staff member.

    *If your child will be having breakfast at school, they may go directly to the cafeteria.  Breakfast is served between 8:15 and 8:35. There will be staff members to supervise and direct the children to their classrooms.  

    We have found that it works best for parents to say goodbye to their children outside.

     

    *At 3:30 school will dismiss.  Children will be supervised to all dismissal points.  Students who will be walking home will meet their parent on the back blacktop. Kindergarten exits the building closest to the science garden area.  Please wait on the blacktop closer to that end, not all the way at the playground. The carpool pick up area is located off of South Central behind the school.

    Mark your calendars for:

     

    *Complete the Kindergarten Parent Survey by August 1st.

    *Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 18th, from 3:00-3:45.

    *First day of school is Monday, August 22nd.   PTO Welcome Back Coffee on the Playground 8:40-10:00

    *Open House/Curriculum Night TBD  We will be sharing important information about school routines, curriculum, and more.
