Standard 1 Narrative
The School District of Clayton began a two-year, multi-phase Long Range Planning Process in January 2012. Phase One of that process has focused on articulating and refining the District's mission, vision and core values. The District assembled a committee of community members, parents, staff, administrators and students to guide the CLAYTON360 process. These individuals served as shepherds of the process, seeking input from the greater Clayton community to help articulate and refine the District's mission, vision and core values. In spite of this comprehensive effort only 71% of parents surveyed agreed that our school's purpose statement is formally reviewed and revised with involvement from parents.
We are in a time of transition toward a school improvement model where student achievement is increased through a focused analysis of data producing goals that have measurable performance targets. At the same time our Evaluation System is in a time of transition where school leaders hold all school personnel accountable for and evaluate the overall quality of the implementation of all interventions and strategies.
