• This will be my twelfth year at Captain Elementary, and I am thrilled to begin working with this new third-grade class. I have taught fifth grade, fourth grade, first grade, and second grade for 16 years.

    I earned my BS in Elementary Education from Eastern New Mexico University and am certified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Special Reading. I also have a Master's in Reading from Webster University and my Reading Specialist Certification from Webster. I'm originally from Rio Rancho, NM, northwest of Albuquerque, but I call St. Louis home. 

    My wife and I have two beautiful girls. Emily is eleven, and Amelia is nine. We like to take the girls on hikes and ride our bikes around our neighborhood in Chesterfield. I enjoy cycling around St. Louis (especially on Grant's Trail and the Katy Trail), reading, playing guitar, and playing tennis with my wife. I also enjoy visiting Vintage Vinyl, Euclid Records, and Planet Score Records and playing records on my many vintage turntables. Also, our classroom has an awesome turntable from the 1970s that we use often! 
     
    I am honored to teach third grade at Captain and am excited to begin working with your students! This is going to be a great year!
