The School District of Clayton is dedicated to fostering a secure, supportive and nurturing environment for students and staff. To ensure the safety of its schools, the District employs a comprehensive approach to security, which includes various measures such as camera systems, visitor check-in centers, specialized training and more.
School Safety Gets a Tech Upgrade with Centegix
This year, the District introduced the Centegix Crisis Alert System to provide an added layer of protection during emergencies. With this system, staff members wear badges that allow them to quickly signal for help in medical, behavioral or campus safety situations.
How It Works:
Each staff member is equipped with a wearable badge featuring a discreet button. When pressed, the button immediately sends an alert to designated responders, enabling them to quickly provide assistance to the appropriate location. The Centegix system was fully installed across all schools at the start of the 2024-25 school year. While the technology is new, ongoing training ensures that staff are well-prepared to use it effectively and efficiently in emergency situations.
“The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we are actively committed to maintaining safe schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Nisha Patel. “The Centegix system is a key part of this effort as it provides an essential layer of reassurance and protection for our entire school community.”
