• The NHS pillar of community Service is demonstrated by service rendering assistance to others. Students generally should have completed 20+ hours of documented volunteer service each year of high school. This service should benefit the wider community (i.e. not the advancement of one's religion or one's personal gain). 

    Complete the NHS: Community Service Verification (2024) form to verify your community services hours.  

    General Information about Community Service-- 

    •  Students generally should have completed 20+ hours of documented volunteer service each year of high school.

    • The NHS: Community Service Verification form must be filled out for EACH place where community service was done.  

    • Any community service done with a religious organization where proselytizing is a component, canNOT count toward NHS community service hours. For example, volunteering to teach a Bible Study class cannot count. 

    • Any community service that a student receives monetary compensation for canNOT count toward community service hours.
