Thank you for dropping in to learn more about me. I have been teaching for 27 years. It is, HANDS DOWN, the coolest job in the world. I get to go to school every day.  I LOVE learning new things and watching students learn, grow and challenge themselves to be better than they were before class. It is the reason I became a teacher. I taught Literacy and Language Arts for the first 5 years of my career and Social Studies for the last 22. My current assignment is 19th Century American History. During my 6th grade Social Studies class, students will learn about the birth of America, Westward Expansion, How People have Resisted Oppression, Civil War, Reconstruction and Immigration.  It is a tough challenge, but every year, my historians and I face it together and come out better on the other end.
