The members of the 2013-2014 Green Team are participating in the Green Schools Quest. Green Schools Quest is an organization working to improve the sustainability of schools across the country. Our project for Green Schools quest is to reuse wood from the recently demolished outdoor stage to create flower boxes, bird feeders and bird houses. It was important for us to help reuse materials that would usually be thrown out. We are now working on communicating with the Green Team parents and Glenridge students and teachers. We are telling students with student-drawn signs about using too much paper towels and too much toilet paper because many people are doing just that. The signs have a little catchy phrase on them. We have a group constructing an iMovie, and a group looking up flowers for a visually pleasing sight every day.  We are making l o a d s of progress and asking parents to help us with our awesome!!!! Build Day by designing a link to sign up. At Build Day, we will build birdhouses and bird-feeders for Glenridge. You might have noticed a link in your e-mail from me and a 3rd grade teacher. That link is the key to coming to Build Day! It's a sign-up place for Green Team parents. The rest you will find there. (At the link.)

Last year the students in Green Team participated in a recycling project. This project raised awareness for recycling and how it can effect the environment. The hopes of these students were to increase the amount of recycling at Glenridge and reduce the amount of waste that the school produced. To help accomplish this goal students in Green team made informative recycling posters to tell fellow students what can be recycled and what can't.These students then presented these posters to all the classes to inform students and teachers about recycling.
