David Breckenridge, MBA
When helping clients make important financial decisions, Moneta Group principal, David Breckenridge, strives to understand his clients' individual situations and helps decide what makes the most sense for them and their financial goals. “I believe the best way to serve my clients’ financial needs is to understand what their goals and objectives are, to put myself in their shoes and advise accordingly,” he says.
David earned his B.A. in economics from Duke University in 1982 and his MBA from Washington University in 1991. His professional experience includes serving ten years as a vice president and personal trust portfolio manager for Mercantile Trust Company and nine years as a senior vice president, portfolio manager and team leader for Bank of America.
In addition to helping clients make important decisions, his success as a Family CFO comes from his ability to see the big picture. “I have had the opportunity to work with two and three generations of the same families and find it extremely rewarding to see the successful results of proper planning that was put in place years ago,” says David.
Outside of work, David is on the board of and serves as treasurer for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of St. Louis. He also serves on theDuke University Academic Affairs Advisory committee and is a committee member of St Michael’s Houses. From 2007-2009, he was the CDS Alumni Annual Fund co-chair.
He and his wife, Christy, keep busy raising their three sons. David enjoys golf, cycling and other outdoor activities.
