• If the Student Contacts section of the PowerSchool Form is not completed correctly the information used for the Buzz Book (and future communications) will not be correct. We will only be including students in the Buzz Books if they have consented to the Buzz Book Permission and have at least one Contact checked as “Custodian” and provide a valid email address for that Custodian. Please also note that if "Receives Mail" is not checked, a student Contact will stop receiving all general school-wide and District-wide emails.

If you would like to be included in your school’s Buzz Book please log in to PowerSchool to ensure your information is complete and accurate. Instructions on this are listed below along with a helpful "how to" video.

    1. Go to https://ps.claytonschools.net/.
    2. Sign in with the Username and Password you use to access the Parent Portal. Click on Create Account if you need to create an account.
    3. To link Students to the Parent Account, parents will need the Access ID and Password for the student. These are provided by the schools. Each student has their own Parent Access ID and Password. If these credentials have been lost, please contact your school’s registrar.
    4. Once signed into PowerSchool, it defaults to the student information page. Options in the Navigation bar will vary depending on the grade level of the student. If multiple students are connected to the Parent account, you can toggle between them by clicking their name in the blue bar.
    5. The forms that need to be updated for each student can be found on the Forms icon under Navigation. Once in Forms, you will work through the required forms. (See the bottom of page 2 through 7 of the attached document for a detailed view of the forms and pages.)
      • The forms available will vary depending on the grade level of the student.
    6. Under the Parent, Guardian and Emergency Contact Information Form, you will set the Emergency Contacts, Custody, and Receives Mail Permissions for Student Contacts. This will determine who receives email communication and postal mailings.
